Obituary for Sara L. "Cookie" Johns

Sara L. “Cookie” Johns, 91, formerly of Brannon Lane, Lewistown, passed away at 10:59 a.m. on Monday May 14, 2018 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 27, 1926 in Savannah, GA. She was the daughter of the late Forbush F. and Claribel (Knight) Bullard. She was also preceded in death by her loving husbands, Robert L. Cook, and William Johns, a daughter, Roberta Saxton, and Thomas Edwards, her companion who she shared a very special bond with for 20 years until his passing.
Sara will be remembered and missed by her children, Bonnie Cook O’Neal, and Billie Johns Snook and husband Michael all of Lewistown; Grandchildren, Lee Bigelow, Laurel Zimmerman, David Bigelow, Daniel Bigelow and Angel Garcia, and 13 Great-Grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Sara was a waitress at the Elk’s Club in the 50’s and 60’s, later at the Lewistown Country Club and Green Gables, as well as a cashier at the AMP Store and Thrift Drug. She also owned the Hof-Brau in Lewistown in the late 1950’s.
A memorial service in loving memory of Sara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday May 21, 2018 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main Street, Lewistown with Father John Harwood officiating. Cookie’s family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Interment will be private.
