Obituary for John E. Lindsey

John E. Lindsey, 76, of Lindsey Lane, Lewistown, passed away on Sunday May 6, 2018 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born September 11, 1941 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Norman and Myrtle (Aitkins) Lindsey. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard Lindsey, and a daughter Gail Stephenson.
John will be remembered and missed by his loving wife, Jacqueline (Kauffman) Lindsey, whom he married in 1960; children, Deborah Lindsey of Panama, Sherry Lindsey and partner Larry Arnold of McClure, Maria Arancibia of Chile, son-in-law, Craig Stephenson, and ex son-in-law, Scott Wray; siblings, Melba Curtis of Washington, Mary Margaret Pecht and husband Richard of Lewistown; grandchildren, Megan Marks, Ashley Hartman, Shawn Wray, Brandon Wray, Kylee Adams, Aubrey Wray; 12 great-grandchildren and Poochie and Daisy, his beloved dogs.
He was a lifetime farmer, also having been employed by the Standard Steel and driving milk truck in his earlier years.
John was an avid racing fan, especially the Port Royal Speedway and of Nascar.
Services will be held at the Little Valley Presbyterian Church, Vira, on Sat. May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend a gathering at the family home following the services.
