Albert L. Kurtz, Sr., 95 of Beaver Springs, died at 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born May 17, 1920 in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Roy R. Kurtz and Emma (TItler) Kurtz.
Albert is survived by his wife, Thelma (Aumiller) Kurtz whom he married in 1946; his son, Albert L. Kurtz, Jr. of York; his step-children, Billi Yocum and husband James of Lewistown; Park Lash of McClure; a grandchild and 5 step grandchildren.
He was the last of his immediate family having been preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.
He was employed at Standard Steel in Burnham and DeVecchis Block Company.
Albert was a member of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church for 74 years and a member of the Paxtonville VFW.
Albert enjoyed going to sporting events at the local high schools, especially Chief Logan. He was a good cook and enjoyed making supper for the church.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street with Mr. Murray Laite officiating. Interment will be in Maitland Cemetery.
His family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
