Doris A. Bobb, of Reedsville, left this earth on Friday, October 12 at 7:05 p.m. to be with her heavenly father. She was the wife of Rev. Dean M. Bobb, Sr. Doris and Dean were married on April 7, 1950. They met while teenagers as members of the old Siglerville Community Band. After marriage, Dean was called to the US Army, so Doris joined him on his assignment for the remainder of his service time in San Antonio, Texas.
Doris is survived by her husband, Dean; son, Dean M. Bobb, Jr. and his wife Susan, and grandsons Christopher and wife Cristie; and Andrew, and great-grandson, Jarod, all from the Chambersburg area. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Kline, of Lewistown, and her nieces Jill (Steven) Yeater and Tammy (Doug) Marks of Lewistown and two great nieces, Danielle Yeater and Shannon Marks, and a great nephew, Tyler Yeater.
Doris was preceded in death by an infant son on February 5, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Ruth (Isenberg) and W. Paul Close of Lewistown.
Doris graduated from Milroy High School in 1946. She attended Empire Beauty School and worked at Russell Bank, Lewistown. Alamo Bank, San Antonio, Texas, McClure Bank, McClure and Farmers Bank in Hanover.
Doris loved to travel and did so in her days after retirement. She was a great one to crochet and make a gift for her family and friends, cooked a great deal and dearly loved children.
She was a current member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewistown. During their years in the ministry they served churches in Elkland, Morris, Williamsport, Abbottstown, Marion, McClure, Lewistown and Milroy.
It is her hope that all who met her on earth will find great joy with her in heaven.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of the Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
