Obituary for David F. Hunter

David F. Hunter, 69, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born September 15, 1948 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Frank W. Hunter and Lois (Daubert) Hunter.
David was a caring, loving, compassionate husband to his wife, Susan R. Hunter whom he married on December 31, 1994; a brother, Robert W. Hunter of Yeagertown and a sister, Linda McLaughlin of New Jersey.
David was employed in the Metal Shop at Standard Steel in Burnham, retiring in 2011 after 42 years of service.
He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsville, and a lifetime member of the Kish Valley Historical Society.
David loved to travel, but his favorite vacation place was his camp, Hunter Haven. He loved to be outside cutting wood, doing lawn work, four wheeling, antique marketing and John Deere Farm Tractors and Gas Pumps. He loved his niece, Becky and husband Keith and his nephew, Mark and wife Sadaf.
He loved spending time with Garrett, Macks, Jamie and Alina, his great nephews and nieces.
He loved his dogs, Biscuit, Charlie and Kinney (The boys); David had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor and was always willing to help but always putting others first.
His funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 E. Logan Street, Reedsville with Pastor Carla Volland officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
There will be a time of visitation with the family from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
