Obituary for James K. "Jim" Abbott

James ‘Jim’ K. Abbott died peacefully at home, January 10th, 2018. He was born in Bloomsburg, PA, September 17th, 1926.
He was predeceased by his parents Arthur M. and Rhea B. (Shuman) Abbott. He was married June 3rd, 2000, to the former Peggy Anne Lyter. Also surviving are two sons, two step-children, five grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren along with great-grandchildren.
He graduated from LHS, Lewistown, Class of 1944. After serving in the Air Force, Jim matriculated at Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA. He was inducted into the “Sports Hall of Fame”, at Dickinson, lettering in baseball, basketball and football.
His entire career was with MVF, Company of Kennett Square, PA. He retired in 1991 as Vice President of Sales.
Jim enjoyed the game of golf, being a member of Kennett Square and Lewistown Country Club.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of the Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
