Charles H. Warfel, 90, of Lewistown, passed away at 2:54 a.m. on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born April 15, 1927 in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Donald and Leona (Derk) Warfel.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Singleton) Warfel whom he married in 1947, Children, Ginny Howe and husband Roger of Tallahassee, Fla., Curt Warfel and wife Julia of Canton, Ga., and Brett Buchanan and husband George of Lewistown, a brother Donald Warfel of Mechanicsburg, Grandchildren, Karen Howe of St. Petersburg, Fla., Katie (Buchanan) Lepley of Lewistown,Hannah (Buchanan) Schmidt of Reedsville, Alex, Zach, and Max Warfel of Canton, GA, Great-Grandchildren, Ben and Henry Lepley, and Liam Schmidt.
Charles was enlisted in The U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. Earlier in life, he was a traffic manager at Marlette Homes, and was a member of The Lewistown Presbyterian Church, and Lewistown Moose Lodge #143.
Service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
