John I. Hoar, 84 of Lewistown, passed away at 5:00 a.m., Friday, April 14 2017 at his home.
Born September 6, 1932 in Barrville, he was the son of the late Joseph N. Hoar and Mary (McClenahan) Hoar.
John is survived by his wife, Sandra (Kling) Hoar whom he married on May 4, 1957; his daughters, Kathy Jo Basom and Tammy J. Foltz and husband Jeffrey; grandchildren, Brandon Basom and wife Melissa; Calin Foltz and fiancee’ Chelsie Bitner, Tymberli Stover and husband Ben; great grandchildren, Marlee Basom, Brody Basom and Aubree Stover; his sister, Norma Sheppard.
He was preceded in death by a son, John I. Hoar, Jr., 2 brothers and a sister.
John was employed as a crane operator at G.A. and F.C. Wagman.
He was a member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge #143.
A memorial service to honor John’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Barr Funeral Home and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown with Pastor Kurtis Swisher officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
