Cecil E. Johnson, 65, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully surrounded by many family and friends on Saturday, Nov 16, 2013, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 14, 1948, in Mattawana, the son of the late Allen “Cliff” and Carrie M. (Miller) Johnson.
Cecil is survived by his siblings: Marlin Johnson and wife Judy of McVeytown, Dorothy “Sis” Grove and husband Bill of Lewistown, Marvin Johnson and wife Naomi of Lewistown, Doris Mackneer and husband Larry of Mifflintown, and Barbara Rothrock and husband James of McVeytown; five nieces, four nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews. He was very close to his many cousins and his special friends from South Carolina, whom he considered his brothers and sisters.
He was the owner of Johnson’s Garage. While working at the garage he loved to hang out with his garage buddies.
Cecil was an avid hunter and loved to hunt in South Carolina. He also enjoyed archery and fishing.
He loved spending time with his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 10:30 am at Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church in Burnham. Pastors Glenn Smith and Laura Kyler will be officiating.
